Implement a Simple Menu
This procedure describes the flow of activities required to implement a simple menu based on Website Categories, in an outer or inner template.
To implement a simple menu
- In the relevant template, code a simpleMenu tqTag according to simpleMenu.
NOTE: The title parameter specifies the text displayed on the Site Manager floating command button.
- Make sure that you registered the template in tqTag Dashboard, as described in Register Templates.
- Make sure that the updated version of the template is uploaded to the Website server, as described in Upload Templates and Related Files.
- Make sure that you are logged in to siteAddress/tqtag, as described in Log in to tqTag Site Manager.
- If the Languages and Categories navigation panel is not displayed, click

- In the navigation panel, click the Language or Category to which you assigned the outer template (as described in Assign Outer Template to the Website).
- On the Content Items page, click Category Settings.
- On the parallel topics menu, click Assign Items to Template.
- On the transparent menu, click the menu command button.
- In the dialog box that opens, select the parent Category of the menu (menu start point).
The top menu level will display the Categories below the parent.
