Assign Content Items to Categories
Use this procedure to assign content items to Categories, which is a prerequisite for displaying content.
Before You Begin
Unless both of the following are true, make sure that you performed
Assign Inner Templates to Categories:
- The Category to which you want to assign content items is a sub-Category.
- An inner template of any type OTHER than Content Item is currently assigned to the parent Category.
To assign content items to a Category
- Make sure that you are logged in to siteAddress/tqtag, as described in Log in to tqTag Site Manager.
- If the Languages and Categories navigation panel is not displayed, click
.
- In the navigation panel, click the Category to which you are assigning content items.
- On the Content Items page, click Category Settings.
- On the parallel topics menu, click Assign Items to Template.
- On the transparent menu, under Content, click the appropriate command button.
- Based on which of the following dialog boxes opens, determine if you are assigning a simple content item or dynamic content items:

- If you are assigning a simple content item, in the dialog box do the following:
- To the left of the content item that you want to assign, click

- Click
to close the dialog box.
- If you are assigning dynamic content items, in the dialog box do the following:
- Select the Categories under which you are specifying content items (if needed, use the Shift and Ctrl keys for multiple selection).
- (optional) Specify Starting From Item # and Number of Items to Display.
- (optional) Specify sorting and filtering settings.
- Click Save.
- Click
to close the dialog box.
- To assign additional content items, return to step 6 above.
